What is Dachshund Cafe?
Dachshund Cafe is a one day pop up event brought to you by the organisers of Pug Cafe. For one day only, a cafe space will be transformed into a cafe dedicated to Dachshunds for Dachshunds including a menu full of delicious doggy treats and pupuccinos.
This is the fifth Dachshund Cafe event brought to you by the organisers of Pug Cafe.
When and where is Dachshund Cafe?
10am – 6.10pm on Sunday 19th August 2018
It will be held at The Lounge, The Happenstance, 10 Paternoster Sq., London EC4M 7DX
Do I need a booking?
Yes! You need a confirmed booking to attend as all Pug Cafe events are strictly booking only.
How do I book if I am a DACHSHUND OWNER?
Booking opens on Saturday 28th July at 10am where two secret email addresses will be released on the main page, event page, Instagram and pugcafe.com
You will need to email us your booking request as soon as possible.
Our previous pop up events have been extremely popular so we strongly advise you send your booking request as soon as the booking email is released if you hope to be successful. It is worth preparing the email in advance and keep it ready to send.
Please email the secret booking address with the following booking details:
1. Your Full Name
2. How many Dachshunds you are bringing + NAMES + attach photo
3. Contact Number
4. Human group size – please tell us if you’re bringing children under 5
5. Your 1st and 2nd preferred time slots. If you are completely flexible please state so but only if you are 100% flexible. E.g. you would accept the first or last time slot.
What are the time slots available at the Dachshund Cafe?
Each slot is 70 minutes long, and start at 10am, 11.10am, 12.20pm, 1.30pm, 2.40pm, 3.50pm and 5pm.
How do I book if I am a DACHSHUND LOVER?
Dachshund Lovers will also need to email a booking request to the separate email address released at 10am on Saturday 28th July.
Please note, this event is primarily for Dachshund owners but we do have many allocated spaces available for Dachshund lovers (those without Dachshunds) in each time slot.

How do I pay if I have been successful with my request?
We will email you offering you a time slot – you then must agree to our booking terms and conditions and if you agree you will need to pay via the payment link. This will be a PayPal.Me link so please ensure you have signed up for a PayPal account prior to booking.
You must pay your booking fee within 48 hours or we may offer your space to someone else. We will then send your confirmation once we have received payment.
How much is the booking fee?
Dachshund Owners £10 & Dachshund Lovers £15
All children under 16 get a 20% discount.
Children Under 5s and all Dachshunds go FREE.
What is included in the price?
The price covers your entry to this one-off event. If you are a Dachshund Owner your dog will receive a free pupuccino and a bag of pupcorn. If you are a Dachshund Lover you will receive a free bag of doggy treats to make friends with the dogs.
Why do you charge a booking fee?
It takes time and money to organise events of this scale. Our staff work hard to give you and your dog, as well as dog lovers, a truly unique and one-of-a-kind off-lead cafe experience.
How long will it take to hear from you?
Please note it may take up to 72 hours to hear from us if you’ve been successful. We expect this event to be very popular, but we cannot anticipate how many requests we will receive.
It may take up to 5 days to hear from us. Please be patient with us during this time, we’ll always endeavour to help but we’re a small team so may take us longer to respond to queries.
Do I need to print off my booking confirmation?
Yes please, print your booking confirmation email and bring it with you on the day. You can also show it to us on your phone if this is more convenient for you.
Can I swap my slot with someone else?
Please do not swap your slot with another guest or give away your time slot whether that be personally, via online giveaway or competition. It is forbidden to sell your booking on. All changes must be made through the booking email.
We only accept transfer requests if you are ill, your dog is unwell or has come into season, or you have extenuating circumstances, and it will always be at the discretion of the team. You must let organisers know at least 5 days before the event if you are unable to attend as after this time we cannot accept any changes.
Can I just turn up?
We are sorry but we ask you do not come to this event without a confirmed booking to avoid disappointment. You will not be able to come in without a booking.
Does my Dachshund have to meet certain criteria to attend?
Yes! If you are bringing your Dachshund they must be:
Well socialised with other dogs
Up to to date with their vaccinations
Healthy and not showing any symptoms of contagious illness
Not suffering (or recently suffered) from Kennel Cough.
Not in season
Will The Happenstance be open as normal that day?
The event will be held in the private area of The Happenstance, and will be closed to the public during the event. The main area of The Happenstance will remain open to the public as normal.
Will it be safe?
Our main priority is to host a safe and fun event for all which is why we take bookings and adhere to a strict capacity limit. This is a risk-assessed event, and we will do everything possible to ensure it is safe for all those attending.
We not use a third party ticketing site due to the unique nature of the event. We must take personal bookings to ensure it is as safe for both Dachshunds as it is humans.
Is the venue air conditioned?
The Happenstance is fully air conditioned and there will be additional floor fans on the day.
How many Dachshunds can I bring?
Maximum four, but if you want to bring more please put in a request in your booking request email. It may not be fulfilled, but we will try our best to accommodate you. Please do not make large group bookings, if you wish to be in the same slot as your friends then please let us know in your email and we will try our best to accommodate you.
Are all Dachshund allowed?
Yes! All Dachshunds including miniature, long-hair and wire-haired dachshunds are all welcome. If your Dachshund is a mix please let us know in your booking request.
Are other breeds allowed to attend?
We love all dogs, but as this event is Dachshund Cafe it is for Dachshunds only. We hope to do more events in the future so please look out for them on the page.
My Dachshund has never been to a coffee shop or cafe before, I’m not sure how they will react?
We recommend taking them to a dog-friendly café prior to the event to ensure they are OK in this environment. If your dog finds it stressful in any way, please do not bring them to the event and let us know as soon as possible.
What happens if I don’t get a slot?
You will be put on the official waiting list and contacted if a slot becomes available.
Where is the nearest underground station?
St Paul’s underground station is 2 minute walk away.
Is there car parking available?
There is no on-site car parking, but there are several parking options available, please search Parkopedia with the address 10 Paternoster Square, London EC4M 7DX.
Will there be more guest and event information released?
Yes! We released guest information which will include further information about the day a few days prior to the event.
